The area around Tama Center Station is being extensively developed to act as the center for the whole of Tama New Town.

Government offices, hotels, banks, department stores, large supermarkets, and office buildings which can function as company head offices are being built and opened in this area in rapid succession. Leisure facilities include the Tama Time leisure complex and indoor theme parks. Tama Center has excellent public transport facilities, including the Keio Sagamihara Line and the Odakyu Tama Line, as well as the Tama Urban Monorail and a network of bus services.
