The Aihara/Oyama area, centered around Tamasakai Station, is being developed under the Land Readjustment Program. In front of Tamasakai Station, the Across Tamasakai shopping center has supermarkets and shops to cater for all the daily needs of residents. In addition, efforts are being made to encourage the construction of business facilities related to research and development, information-related facilities, as well as cultural, welfare and recreational facilities. Tama New Town is fast developing into a new type of residential zone where people can live and work in one area.
